Community Development Worker Job Opportunity
The Rathlin Development & Community Association (RDCA) is seeking a community
development worker. This is a hands-on position, working from the Resource Centre,
Rathlin Island.
The key purposes of the job are:
- To support the RDCA in effectively achieving its objectives
- To support community development and encourage volunteering and community
involvement - To support partnership building with government, statutory and voluntary
organisations, improving the quality of life for the whole community
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the daily life and development of a small,
ambitious community, bringing together sustainability, heritage, tourism, creativity and
economic development within a rural island context.
We are looking for someone with a relevant third-level qualification plus three years’
experience, or five years’ experience of community development work. The successful
candidate will have a commitment and positive attitude to community development and to
working with, and being managed by, local people. They will have strong organisational and
communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively across sectors and communities, and proven experience of securing and managing funding from multiple sources.
Salary: £31,475
