There was a great turnout of island residents for the opening of the ‘Rathlin Reflections’ exhibition in the Verbal Arts Centre in Derry yesterday.

The exhibition is the result of a lot of work by a group of island residents helped by Roberta Bacic. Working in the tradition of the quilts made on the island in the past, and drawing on the Latin American tradition of ‘arpillera’ story-telling quilt work, the exhibition reflects aspects of life on Rathlin in the past and today. The work will be exhibited on the island in the future. Many thanks to everyone in the Verbal Arts Centre, Roberta Bacic, and in particular to all who got involved with the project itself.
