Transport on Rathlin

Buses on Rathlin

If you require transport once you reach Rathlin, you can step on board one of two buses operating from the ferry pier. Both buses hold 33 passengers and the drivers do allow dogs.

The minibuses will take you to and from the RSPB Seabird Centre at the West Lighthouse. They operate from the harbour during the summer season, collecting passengers from incoming ferries. The last bus departs at Pier 1 (below the Manor House) at 1.30pm.

Tickets cost £5 return for adults, £3 for children (cash payment only). The journey takes about 20 minutes each way, and the bus companies usually leave passengers at the Seabird Centre for about an hour.

However, please be aware that if you are hoping to visit the RSPB Seabird Centre/ West Lighthouse, dogs are not permitted inside the Centre (with the exception of guide dogs).
