Submit a sighting

In March 2026, Rathlin was officially declared ferret‑free. The purposeful release of ferrets is not permitted on the island. As we continue to monitor for rats, reports of any potential sightings are incredibly important, and we are extremely grateful for your ongoing support.

If you think you’ve seen a ferret/ rat, please tell us as soon as possible. We have created the form below to try to make this easier for you, and for us to follow up. If you prefer, you can send a message to Kirsty (07711 986181)  or Charlie (07719 079003) in our team. Please include the details of your sightings and maybe even a location map if you can.

Your descriptions of the location and your local knowledge are very important. Also, an accurate map reference can be very helpful too. You can try using What3Words mapping, as it is precise to three metres. You can pop any information that might be helpful along with a What3Words reference in the reporting form in the other useful information box.

The sooner we know then the more success we will have catching it.

Don’t delay, tell us today.
